Carpet Policy

CARPET POLICY

EFFECTIVE AS OF 08/01/2023

Carpeting room areas require exact measurements and for this purpose it is highly recommended that such measurements are conducted by industry professionals to ensure all around safety.

SITE ASSESSMENT (PER VISIT)

Booking a site assessment before ordering carpets is a wise decision. It ensures that all measurements are precise and the necessary materials are accounted for, providing a professional fit. This service, offered at a refundable cost of £35.00 at the proforma stage, can prevent stress and inconvenience due to incorrect measurements or things that have not been taken into account for a correct fitting.

CUSTOMERS CAN ONLY RECEIVE A FULL REFUND OF THE SITE ASSESSMENT FEE IF THEY PROCEED WITH THE ORDER AT THE PROFORMA STAGE.

However, if customers are confident in their own measurements, the company respects their decision without recourse, and will proceed with the order and subsequent fitting without a site assessment. This flexibility caters to the customer's comfort and confidence in the process.

FITTING CONDITIONS

(a) All room areas must be clear of furniture and swept clean in readiness for carpet fitters.

(b) Customers must advise the fitters of the whereabouts/positioning/routing of any underfloor piping, wiring or cabling etc.

(c) We are not required to clear rooms upon arrival for fitting. If rooms are not clear on the day of installation, this could cause unnecessary delays for our contractors and further costs to arrange another fitting date would become applicable at the same rate of the original charge for fitting.

SUBSTRUCTURE FOR CARPET FITTING

Carpet installation is quite forgiving when it comes to the condition of the subfloor. Minor imperfections are typically concealed by the carpet and padding, providing a smooth and comfortable surface. However, for areas with noticeable undulations in the substructure, a high-quality, dense underlay is essential to ensure a level walking surface and to extend the life of the carpet. Proper preparation of the subfloor and selection of underlay will contribute significantly to the final look and feel of the carpeted area.

ROOM DIMENSIONS

Are only provided with Itemised quotations from the Procedure Table and not from the None Itemised section of the table.

REMOVAL OF CARPET & UNDERLAY CUT OFFS

Charnwood Flooring or their contractors do not remove carpet cut offs after carpet/underlay installation unless prior agreed at the time of carpet purchase which will be subject to additional costs at the rate of £85.00 per room + the cost for heavy duty Waste Removal Bags (£7.76 each) that are specifically designed for these types of waste removal but not existing floor removal which is seen as a separate removal job that involves a different removal process.
