Hard Floor Installation Service

Unveiling the Epitome of Luxury

Quality Hard Flooring Meets Impeccable Service.

Installing hardwood floors can completely transform a room, giving it an elegant, timeless look. The process requires careful planning, preparation, and precise execution.

Installing Hard Flooring

Preparation

First, decide whether you want to install solid hardwood or engineered hardwood. Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood, while engineered hardwood consists of layers of wood veneer. Each has its benefits, such as engineered wood being more stable in areas with fluctuating humidity.

Plan the Layout

Typically, hardwood planks are installed perpendicular to the direction of the floor joists for added stability. However, the direction should also complement the room's layout and size. For example, in narrow rooms, running the boards lengthwise can make the space appear larger.

Install the Hardwood Flooring

tart by placing the first row of planks along the wall, making sure the tongues of the boards are facing the wall. Leave a small expansion gap (about 1/8 to 1/4 inch) between the wall and the first row to allow the wood to expand and contract.

Finishing Touches

After the flooring is installed, you’ll need to install or reattach baseboards to cover the expansion gap at the edges. You can also install quarter-round or shoe molding along the perimeter for a polished look.

Maintenance

Sweep or vacuum your hardwood floors regularly to keep dirt and dust off the surface. You can occasionally damp mop with a hardwood-safe cleaner.
