EFFECTIVE AS OF 08/01/2023
The installation of vinyl or cushion flooring requires precise measurement and careful planning. Unlike carpet, which can be trimmed or stretched to fit, vinyl flooring must be cut accurately to ensure a perfect fit. Even a small error in measurement can result in gaps or the need for additional material, leading to unexpected expenses. Therefore, it's crucial to double-check the measurements to avoid any costly mistakes. Proper installation ensures a smooth, professional finish that will last for years.
SITE ASSESSMENT (PER VISIT)
Booking a site assessment before ordering vinyl flooring is a wise decision. It ensures that all measurements are precise and the necessary materials are accounted for, providing a professional install. This service, offered at a refundable cost of £35.00 at the proforma stage, can prevent stress and inconvenience due to incorrect measurements or things that have not been taken into account for a correct installation.
CUSTOMERS CAN ONLY RECEIVE A FULL REFUND OF THE SITE ASSESSMENT FEE IF THEY PROCEED WITH THE ORDER AT THE PROFORMA STAGE.
However, if customers are confident in their own measurements, the company respects their decision without recourse, and will proceed with the order and subsequent installation without a site assessment. This flexibility caters to the customer's comfort and confidence within the process.
SUBSTRUCTURE FOR VINYL FITTING
Indeed, the success of vinyl or cushion floor installations hinges on the quality of the subfloor. It's crucial to ensure that the subfloor is perfectly level and free of imperfections, as even the smallest blemish can result in tearing or visible irregularities post-installation. Proper subfloor preparation, which may include screeding, filling, or even replacing sections of the floor, is essential for a flawless finish and long-lasting performance of the vinyl flooring.
ONUS ON THE CLIENT
The company's policy offers a balance between customer autonomy and professional guidance. Customers who prefer to rely on their own measurements and substructure assessment can do so, and the company will honor their decision by moving forward with the order and installation without a mandatory site assessment.
This approach respects the customer's expertise and comfort level within the process. However, it is important to note that if the installation team is tasked with installing a new vinyl floor and discovers issues with the substructure, they are instructed not to proceed. This is because addressing the sub-base is a prerequisite for a successful installation.
Ignoring this step will lead to significant delays, unnecessary cost to the company, and the forfeiture of the installation fee. The company's stance ensures that installations are conducted on a sound foundation, ultimately safeguarding the customer's investment and the integrity of the manufacturer’s final product.
Customer understanding is appreciated.
